I happen to be something of a shade-tree musician. I’ve been playing guitar for quite a few years now. More than I like to admit, really. There was nothing like being young and pulling out your strat and running off some Eddie Van Halen licks; botching up ‘Eruption’ all to hell but getting that crucial tapping part correct. The adulation then was wonderful. Then, you just get older and that whole “wow, he’s good to be so young” thing just whisks away like the smoke and mirrors it actually was all along. But I’ll take seasoned over those times any day. Back then, it was all about how much you could play in a given space. These days, it’s all about knowing when to shutup and let the music speak.

On occasion, I also write reviews for AllHorrorMovies.com, and on those occasions, I thoroughly enjoy doing so. I’d recommend you check the place out if you’re a horror fan, and hardly just for my various meanderings. Sometimes I write over at Helium. I enjoy the community there, folks voting on my stuff and others, and finding out whether or not something I write is hit or miss. I’m happy to say, thus far, most of my stuff seems to be in the former range. Given how much crap I occasion myself to hammer out on this computer, one might think that I love the sound of my own keys clicking. Could be. Mostly, I just think I’m rather neurotic and need a lot of external validation. Are the two really so far apart anyway?

I’ve been online since God only knows when (that’s a long time, mind you) but there are a lot of folks who’ve been online longer. And I just ignore them. They mean nothing to me. Braggers with their “oh, we’ve been online since like 1995 and stuff.” They’re so full of themselves. Don’t you think so? Yeah, we don’t listen to them. The larvae. The larvae told us how jealous those people really are, and we believe the larvae. Always believe the larvae.
